The meaning of volunteering is to help others who are in need or helping other people. It teaches us money is not everything and showing an act of kindness to a stranger who may turn out to be a succesful person in life. The money that we recieve, is just paper that comes from the trees. I believe Drew require us gain 100 community service hours ,during our high school career, to give us something to do outside of drew. Most kids are surrounded by workloads from teachers and surround themselves with school but, we will have to leave our highschool behind. If you are caught up in your school life, you don't learn how to be independent.
Face Painting Volunteer 10/31/24
During my time on halloween, I volunteered to face paint at Shelter Arms during there Fall Festival. I painted a variety of kids with different skin completions to make sure they all have one thing in common, they all had their faces painted by me. Overall, this was a experience from the long lines of kids waiting for their faces to be painted and parents who supported the children wishes of becoming a work of art.
In my sophmor year, I volunteer down at the elementary academy to read books to kindergarders. I enjoyed reading fun engaging books to the class of 37' and hope to inspire them to care for others.
P.S. The day the picture was taken, it was senior citizen day!!!
This was an payed intership during the summer of 23'. It was helpful to learn about nature invasive species/plants, teamwork, and hard work. It was a 7 week program with days of working along the atlanta beltline, visiting work places, and learning about financial literacy. My favorite part of the YTT program was creating elevator pitch and resumes because it helped us learn how applying for different jobs.
