Having been at Drew Charter since I was 10 years old, in the last seven years being here I can comfortably say that my experience has been positive. Before landing at Drew, I attended several different schools due to immigrating to the U.S and what I believe to be the most blatant quality about Drew is the support system. Drew is a very well connected place, one where the staff know the students and the students are comfortable around the staff- even if you were new like me.
Drew is also a school that places emphasis on STEAM, an educational approach designed to foster creativity, integrating Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, which we have utilized throughout all of high school. Not only is STEAM a great approach that brings out creativity- it helps you gain valuable skills that I personally use in my daily life.
I am so grateful to have attended Drew and I am proud to say that I will be an alumni of Drew Charter's Class of 2025. I will work hard to bring excellence outside of this building and bring its teachings wherever I go, whether it be my community or another campus.
My Freshman Year of High School was far from typical. I began the first semester of 9th Grade virtually, while others returned back to our physical building, I was at home working remotely. I know that virtual learning during COVID-19 was a big adjustment for everyone, both staff and students, and it was no different for me as well.
In my second semester, I returned to the physical building- after almost 2 years. I felt incredibly anxious, I was worried that
My Sophomore Year of high school was my first year where I was completely back at the building, and I really enjoyed this year.
