10th Grade

Spanish

This year I have been taking Spanish 3, in which we have covered a wide variety of Spanish subjects. The class has so far covered introductions, travel, and celebrations.

Spanish Notebook

This year, we had a notebook that we did almost all of our work in throughout the year.

Spanish 3 Notebook

This was a project we did in Spanish class that involved choosing five tourist destinations in a Spanish-speaking country, and writing about those places in Spanish. I chose Argentina, and wrote about five tourist destinations.

Unit 6 Project

We spent unit 6 in Spanish learning about art and how to describe art and artists in Spanish. In the unit 6 project, we were tasked with finding an artist, and writing about that artist in Spanish. The artist I chose for this project was Salvador Dali.

Epic Elements Project

The goal of the Epic Elements project was to display a social injustice in the ancient world using an animation, and to include other subjects such as Spanish in the project. The story we made for this project was about two kids learning to work together to escape slavery in ancient Egypt.

Literature

We spent most of our time in Literature working on the Write Your Best Seller project. Write Your Best Seller was a project that we did in Literature in which we wrote a book and could publish it if we wanted to.

Chemistry/Art

ChemVas Cooks

This year in our combined chemistry and art class, we cooked a recipe of our choice that was in some way related to art. I decided to make a pancake that was meant to resemble the famous painting "The Persistence of Memory". We had to make a video that showed us making the recipe an explaining it. It is shown below.

We also completed a slide show that displays the recipe in more detail.

Art Project

In art class, we were tasked to create a piece of art that included wind or gas in some way, which was what we had been studying in science class. I chose to use a fan to suspend colorful pieces of paper in the air above it as my project.
