Geometry
During unit 1 of geometry, we learned how to classify polynomials. To do this, we were taught how to label polynomials based on the number of terms and degrees. The degree is the highest exponent of an expression, and a term is a numerical expression including a coefficient and/or a variable to some degree. The number of terms and highest degree determines the name of the type of polynomial. For example, polynomials with a degree of two are called quadratic, and polynomials with two terms are called binomials. We also learned how to add, subtract, and multiply polynomials. To add and subtract polynomials, you must combine like terms. With this, we learned how to find perimeter and area using polynomials.
Geometry and Architecture go hand in hand for many reasons. For example, parallel and perpendicular lines, along with circles, are important tools used for designing buildings on paper and transferring the designs into the real world, and vice versa. Similarly, tools used for measuring the world, known as geometry, are also used for drawing and designing buildings in the real world. It is stated by a man named Vitruvius, a roman architect, that in order to create a good building, you must have three conditions. These conditions are commodity, firmness, and delight, and you can use geometry to achieve these three conditions.
