This is a video of the children book that my group and I have done it Chemvas. The book is suppose to tech children about the group metalloids on the periodic table. It is a girl named Maddie birthday and she gets a computer but it is missing silicon and the computer explains the other elements in the group metalloids. My group did it this way because Children are always on computers or phones and we thought it was interesting to learn what is in computers. The difficulties that we encounter was turning the book in on time. It was done but the voice over was not completed. I learned that silicon is in a computer because without it the computer would over heat.
Science his project is fair project- This science fair project is called Vibrant Hues. My partner was Afiya Cave she was exclent partner and I would say that we slit everything 50/50 . The question that was tested was How does Lighting Affect the Dyeing Process of Various Fabrics? The purpose is to prove that different settings of light can affect the different hues of dye in fashion. We hypothesize that natural light will transform the colors and shift it into brighter hues due to the absorption and reflection of both ultraviolet and infrared rays of light.
Procedures
Decide on a topic of interest.
Research the topic.
Formed a Hypothesis.
Tested to see if the hypothesis was valid.
Buy all materials listed and choose different types of fabrics
Buy the types of dye colors that you will like to use
Lay your clothing on a flat surface
Take your bottle of tye dye powder and fill it up with water
Shake your bottle until all of the powder is dissolved
Repeat steps 6-7 for all of the colors
Make each piece of clothing striped with yellow, green, and purple.
Flip the clothing over and repeat step 9
Repeat steps 3- 10 for each clothing
Place one of each different fabrics in natural lighting, artificial light and the darkness
Let the clothing sit in each lighting for 3 hrs, except for the no light section(Overnight)
Let it dry in the dark after three hrs have passed
Form a conclusion from the results.
In this project we have discovered that the hypothesis is incorrect. Fluorescent light makes the dye brighter than sunlight and no light. Denim is the best fabric to dye. Next to denim would be cotton. Denim appears to be darker than the other fabrics.Satin and silk did not absorb the dye as much as the denim and cotton. Therefore, the satin and silk fabrics resulted in a duller hue. The Silk fabric would often slide off and bleed in with the other dyes which resulted into another color. We discovered that the dye in the silk fabric would be consumed by another color as it spreaded throughout the material.
These are some pictures that I have taken in Chemvas. Me and my partners had to each find 3 object to take a picture of. It had to be the right prospective.
For these 3 mini project we had to make knitting, looming and weaving for acts of kindness. It was a very interesting project.
In this project me and my classmates made breakfast. Our breakfast was a omelet and a smoothie. we made everything dr. suess themed. We had to relate the cooking to art and chemistry. Dr. seuss is artist and we found the elements that makes up the smoothie.
In my new art I have a building in the back with crazy windows. I have a car with the buble and the person was coming from that building. The black thing flowing from the car is the person hair. It is mutiple bubles in the air. The street is in the are with the cloud it is not on the ground.
The project is called Geometry Furniture Project. I have to find a furniture piece that is incorporated with geometry. Explain what I have learned tat is in the pieces and what I have not learned.
The geometric shapes that I see is a triangle and a hexagon
The geometry shape that I see that the designer incorporates in the furniture is Triangles, lots and lots of triangles.
The geometric shapes that I haven’t learned about is a hexagon.
In world lit my group and I had to make a tribe. In the tribe we had to make language, government, art, rituals, explain our clothing, religion, where we lived, goods and customs, banking and read and write a paragraph for the class.
A Journal of weird dreams Kiara has almost every time she sleeps. What could these dreams mean and can it change her life forever. ( click the link below to read.)
My partner (Destinie Jhonson) and I want to encourage anybody with amazing, beautiful, awesome brown skin. we do not need to hide under our skin color we need to embrace.
First, choose two of the three following prompts to answer:
Compare and contrast members of your family.
Describe your responsibilities in your family.
Describe the activities that your family does together.
This project was a combination of all of my class. In world history we learned about the Columbia exchange which they have exchange goods, disease, food. people, culture and many other items. In world history we had exchange food items and mad food out of what we had. In Geometry we had learned about parallelograms. In Chemvas we made a African wax print which incorporated in putting glue on the scarf and dying the parts we wanted. We had to have a parallelogram on the wax print. so i have put it on the side because i wanted it to be chrismas themed. in this project. In chemvas we leared about how a scarf was about of people culture.
Steps in making the scarf
I glued a tree down on a scarf because it is almost christmas.Put some presents on it with 3 parallelogram. The next day I dyed the scarf red, green, purple.
For the science part we had to dye the scarf, the math part is the parallelogram and the history part is during the christopher columbus exchange they exchange culture and that is design is apart of the culture.
I found nothing difficult, the thing that got out of it was that they exchange culture because I did not know that. I found using glue interesting.
It could be improved by the chrismas boxes and the dying bleed threw. I rused so it spreeded everywhere.
I enjoyed the creative process of making the portrait even though I may have gone a bit overboard and it took my awhile to make my code. It was very fun and stressful but successful. The most challenging thing was figuring out the coordinates for arch right and arch left. You couldn’t even repeat the same thing for the other side of the face so it was so complicated because sometimes it would not meet up. The only thing I overcome the time it took my to make my code.
