For our first week of inventeams we started of by brainstorming problems around topic that affecting the world right now.
This week we started to brainstorm solutions to the problem and came up with many ideas
During this week we got down to three of our ideas, fully fleshed them out, and did some research on them. Once we found out that our Idea was original and was currently relevant we voted on the most popular idea.
While we were almost done we found that our idea wasn't original and had to start from scratch. This was very discouraging and stressful but we still came up with an new idea and finished the research and invention statement for it. We also completed our video and had a ready application to submit.
Out of the many schools we have been one of the 13 teams selected to move on!
This week we all pitched which technical team/Lead role we each wanted
This week we started to do research on the technical team we decided to be on. I chose the data team which focuses on getting the video data from the device to a cloud based storage system. We also voted on leaders for each technical team.
For this week we started to go deep into our technical team work. we crated a plan for how we would conduct our research and even interviewed an expert. Now that we have followed through with our plan our next steps are to take AWS courses to start and learn the system.
This InvenTeam project has done a lot for me this year. While it added a lot of stress to my already stressful 11th grade year it also taught me many valuable skills and pushed me to a level that I couldn't have reached without it. I became an expert on data management and organization through the use of Amazon Web Services and learned user interface skills using ruby on rails. This project shows me that the invention process is no joke. It takes lots of hard work, dedication, patience, perseverance, and time. Their were many times where I wanted to give up and just quit but I had a team to help me through the process. After doing this project it has educated me more on the many different types of engineering their is and has helped me figure out what I want to do with it later in the future.
