For this assignment, I learned about the 9 rules of composition and to understand the importance of taking a picture. I learned about camera tips and how to use the camera. The 9 rules of composition are fill the frame, framing, texture, repetition, bird's eye, worm's eye, radial, rule of thirds, and vanishing point. We took about three days to take pictures. It was kind of hard to capture pictures because I didn't know what to take or what each rule consists of in the pictures. Once the pictures were uploaded into my folders, I had to clean the folder out and delete the pictures that I didn't want. I had to make a two-minute video showcasing all the pictures that I had taken.
For this assignment, I learned about headshots. portrait, and modeling photography and the different styles of lighting and how lighting relates to taking a great picture. I had to take headshots, portraits, and modeling pictures using natural light, flash, and constant light. I had fun taking these pictures and it was a learning experience because I had to learn how to change my settings, for example, my ISO and my aperture to either take pictures inside or outside. For all of the pictures, I had to talk to people and tell them to relax and how to pose and turn their heads and bodies for the pictures. Once I took all of my pictures and looked into my folder, I had to choose 8 pictures for each that I thought was the best for me and make a folder that had my best 8 pictures. For the collage that I had to put together, I had to choose 2 headshots, 3 portraits, and 4 modeling pictures.
This was a Black History Assignment. For this assignment, I was required to create a concept of what Black history means to me. I chose family, specifically my family. I need 12 images to tell my concept. I wanted to take a people shoot of my Black family. I took headshots, portraits, and modeling pictures of my siblings, my parents, and it included myself. To the left, you will see a presentation that I had put together to present this assignment. This people shoot reminded me of how much I love and appreciate my family.
For this Black History assignment, I had to research past and present famous African American photographers. I was required to create a short bio of each photographer and try to recreate one of their images. I had chosen P.H Polk and Michael McCoy. To the right, you will see a presentation that I had put together to present this assignment. Completing this made me realize that there are a lot of Black photographers that came before us.
