what is borax : Borax is a powdery white substance, also known as sodium borate, sodium tetraborate, or disodium tetraborate. 

Borax has :boron, united with oxygen and soda in it. 

Why do you use hot water in borax :Boiling hot water allows for more borax powder to dissolve to create the desired saturated solution 

 What happens as the water cools :That Borax separated from the solution and formed crystals around your pipe cleaner creation and the sides of the bowl
