The Most Heroic Step of Sundiata’s Journey

A hero is selfless, a genuinely good person, and someone gets the undivided attention of all of us and causes change. He does fit my definition of a hero. He helps out whoever he can. An example is when the 9 witches came to hurt him and he gave them food from his mothers garden. Sundiata is a legendary king of Mali, he was strong and brave.

The most heroic part of Sundiata's journey occurs when he is overcoming his obstacle and has to battle the sorcerer king. He couldn’t defeat him the first time because he did not have the resources. Sundiata realized the sorcerer king cannot be harmed by normal weapons.

To begin, during the first battle with the sorcerer king, Sundiata was not able to defeat him. When Sundiata was fighting the sorcerer king he threw a spear but it bounces off the king. Next he shoots an arrow but the sorcerer king catches it. After all of that he disappears.

Many people would have given up, but Sundiata keeps fighting and doesn't give up. In this moment Sundiata shows that he doesn't give up and is brave.

After the battle, Sundiata is reunited with his griot.

Luckily, Sundiata’s griot escapes the sorcerer king. The griot had worked for the sorcerer king for 8 years. He tells him he must shoot the sorcerer with the spur of a white rooster.

Sundiata’s griot  risked his life to help him. People like to help Sundiata because he is caring and helpful. It shows that the griot is  willing to help Sundiata and that He risk his life.

During the final battle Sundiata fights the sorcerer king.

Sundiata must shoot the sorcerer with the spur of a white rooster. When he shoots the sorcerer king he loses power. He runs away in a cave and disappears. Sundiata realizes that sosso is the sorcerer king's strong hold and where his power is at. So he burns it to the ground.

Many people would have been scared of the sorcerer king. Sundiata was not even after losing once he battled him again and won. This shows that Sundiata was not scared of the sorcerer king . He was brave in the fight.

While some people may claim Sundiata’s origin and early childhood was the most heroic part of his journey, the truth is the fight with the sorcerer king is the most heroic part of his story.

During his journey towards becoming one of the greatest legends of the Kingdom of Mali, Sundiata’s origins reflect a life challenged with living in the shadows of his great father who is a king and his mother who has the spirit of a buffalo. In addition, Sundiata realizes at an early age that his life is met with challenges and conflicts. He soon realizes that becoming a young man takes more than what others expect from him. During the end of Sundiata’s journey, he is faced with confronting the Sorcerer King and realizes that the Sorcerer King cannot be harmed by Normal weapons. 

 Although we can argue that Sundiata’s life is met with challenges in his development as a hero, his heroism is defined by confronting the untouchable Sorcerer King. He battles and fights the sorcerer king, and even though he’s defeated, he prevails on and beats him to become a great King

In summation, Sundiata is the epitome of a hero because he is  selfless, a genuinely good person, and cares about his people. He used his challenges to guide people towards happiness and restore the beauty of Mali Sundiata embodies a hero and left his home in Mema to take on a journey that had a lot of challenges. Although he faced every unimaginable obstacle he was able to use it to help his people and restore the greatness of Mali

Sundiata would help today’s world by caring for people and guiding them in the right way. Hero are often seen as separate from human beings. Sundiata was a hero because he did the unimaginable without a cape.
