For a collaboration assignment between Visual Arts and Chemistry, I made this art piece. I was supposed to write the word "ChemVAS" using science and art related objects. This project was a lot of fun. It allowed me to get creative and make something that  looks pretty cool. The hard part was choosing what things to use as the letters and words.

I made a tile and then decorated it with an element.First I made a tile with the clay.Then I took an exacto knife and carved cracks in the tile and made a center point where all the cracks would meet.I then carved my element into the tile.I didn’t really struggle with anything.

As our school encourages students to incorporate all subjects into their academic curiculum, every year, we have at least one PBL project. For this first project, we were challenged to make a symbol, so I decided to make a star because to me, that shape represents dreams and goals. I was originally going to make many shooting stars but the paper that we made was somewhat hard to cut with scissors. Next time I hope to get a better pair of scissors so that I can make it look better. I would also like to add color to it.

My priceable of design was contrast. I think my image portrays this because his head is slightly tilted to the right. Because his head is tilted to the right I made the left side of his face darker than the right side. I also added a dark spot in his ear and at the bottom of his chin.
