For this project, we were each assigned an industry or practice that uses land and water resources and tasked to research the impacts it has on the environment and sustainable alternatives. My assigned topic was sustainable forestry and agriculture, a collective term for the methods and practices designed to keep those industries working in a renewable way that preserves the resources and lessens their impact on climate change. These industries inherently result in large impacts on the surrounding environments, because they require the removal or change of a resource, but sustainable forestry and agricultural methods aim to make sure this impact is small or temporary. This includes methods of lumber harvest like selective trimming, the reforestation of lumber forests, and crop rotation, and the avoidance of unsustainable, resource-draining methods like uniform clear-cutting or slash-and-burn agriculture.

While learning about the Electoral College, we played the iCivics game "Win the White House" to simulate the processes of the campaign trail and how the Electoral College impacts the strategies used. These are the reflection questions I answered after the game.
