For Algebra 2, I conducted a survey on the productivity of Power 45 among Drew students. We learned about the different survey methods and used them to conduct our own. For my final presentation, I included graphs and my interpretations of the data I collected.

In my spanish class, I learned about the many factors and reasons behind high dropout rates in countries in Latin America. In my essay, I talked about the factors behind students dropping out such as their educational systems. I also wrote about ways to improve graduation rates like good study habits and more. 

En mi clase de español, yo aprendo sobre muchos factores y razones de las altas tasas de la deserción. En mi papel, yo hablo sobre los factores de la deserción escolar de los estudiantes, como sus sistemas educativos. También yo escribo sobre maneras de mejorar las tasas de graduación como buenos hábitos de estudio y más.

I combined principles of chemistry and art to create a Mandala, which is a kind of cultural art piece.  Me and my partners made symbols to represent the electrons in the electron rings. We used color palettes to make our rings visually appealing and used our assigned elements to decide the amounts electrons on each ring.

Cultural Connections at No Mas Cantina

No Mas Cantina, I ate a spinach quesadilla with a side of beans and rice. The dish originates from Mexico and includes ingredients such as cheese, a tortilla, and spinach. This makes me think of the spread of cultures, especially through food. Many foods have been spread to America from different cultures such as this. 

Art, Identity, and Social Commentary at the High Museum

Century Vases made by Roberto Lugo and Karl Mueller are very similar in their layouts; the main differences are in the symbols and designs on them. Karl Mueller's original Century Vase included symbols of American culture, while Roberto Lugo's includes aspects of his own culture. I am inspired by Roberto Lugo's vase and how he incorporated his own culture and brought new meaning into an already meaningful art piece. If I were to make my own century vase, I would try to include aspects of my Korean culture.
