Jane Weidensaul was a graduate of the Julliard School of Music and became a professor of Julliard and the Manhattan School of Music's Doctoral programs. Weidensaul's piece, 'El Numero Uno', tells the story of a bullfighter, with changes in dynamics and tempo throughout the piece. The piece resembles traditional Spanish music and includes special techniques, such as 'prรจs de la table, which means to play close to the soundboard. This technique creates a mimic of a guitar, which is then followed by tapping a beat onto the soundboard as if it were a drum.
This ensemble piece is lively and it is a great piece to have for gigs - or just for fun!
