Narrative Essay
J. Cole raps “But you ain't never gon' be happy 'till you love yours ' .‘' His album , The Forestforest Hill , came out in 2014 when I was 8 years old, and that's when I first discovered J Cole because my dad was playing it and it just stuck with me also My big sister liked J Cole to so it made a special bond , connection for us . I am no longer an annoying playful kid anymore but am a black /African american , cis gender female who is a little /big sister to Casey , Legend . I speak English , and am optimistic , outgoing and I'm a 17 year old animal lover. I also enjoy helping little kids / motivating people. I also do a lot of physical activities dealing with sports . Although I am older now , I still remember J Cole’s words to remind me not to shut down and appreciate what I got before I start worrying about what other people got but to instead share my gifts and talents with the world and not take it for granted . One day, I hope to go back to school to research how to truly motivate and inspire students to feel empowered by their education.
When I turned eight , my parents announced that we were moving from Stone crest to Decatur . I was in shock. We had lived in Stone crest since I was four years old, and I had never even really thought about moving away from somewhere I grew up. All I could do was argue. “Why ?” I demanded." My mom calmly said it's the best opportunity for school and more space to live in . It was true that our house now is much smaller and even in a different neighborhood than most of my friends but also has better benefits Such as new house more space for me and my family so we live comfortably and not cluttered with everything also free schooling , and that's good because my last school my mom had to pay 1500 just for me not to appreciate it . I never really knew how hard my mom worked throughout my life until now because now I see that she's doing something special for her family . Also with her not paying for schooling it’s less stressful on her and it's a uniform school so she wouldn't have to pay for a whole bunch of clothes or try to keep up what my other friends wear .
But as I go back to the quote J Cole Stated’’ you're never going to be happy till you love yours’’ That quote took me a while to get it But when I did . it reflected on my options and made me see the things I have now since I moved school and had a fit about moving but moving was the best option for me . Because now my new school has other academic activities , good sports and also good leadership skills that set you up for your life and how you want it to be . I used to think I was very unfortunate but now that I appreciate what I have I'm very fortunate. I love what I do at my school now, such as its college program for you to do what you want to do in life to see if that's the best fit for you . And I'm grateful for that opportunity because that way you will already know if that job is for you before you even go to a real college so that’s what I mean by Good Academics activities . Also my new school is called ‘’Drew Charter ‘’ and I feel like my school has a part of who I am today because of the sports I play such as track and field also the benefits such as whenever we have public discussions That helped me with communication and public speaking for interviews or anything dealing with that area .
But as I stated I am grateful for what I have and glad I have a chance to experience new things and even though I was ungrateful and didn’t like the move. The person I most appreciate is my mother. Who I'm proud of because without her, if she wouldn’t have pushed me to my limits to succeed I wouldn’t have been able to be the person I am today . And yeah I'm human. I make mistakes but one of them was how I didn’t appreciate what I had when I got it But now I am appreciative ., very grateful about moving , moving forward and doing bigger , brighter things here at Drew Charter High school .
I wrote this narrative essay to reflect on my personal growth and the lessons I’ve learned from my experiences, particularly regarding the move from Stonecrest to Decatur and the impact it had on my perspective. Through the lens of J. Cole’s quote, “But you ain't never gon' be happy 'till you love yours,” I explore how my initial resistance to change transformed into an appreciation for the opportunities I now have, like the academic and extracurricular activities at Drew Charter High School. This essay highlights how I’ve learned to be grateful, recognize my mother’s sacrifices, and embrace the positive aspects of my life and education.
I wrote this essay above to explore how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming an integral part of our daily lives, from movies to real-world applications. I highlighted both the potential dangers and benefits of AI, particularly in how it supports careers, enhances learning, and provides helpful tools for students. My goal was to show that, despite concerns, AI offers valuable resources that can improve various aspects of life.
