Quarter 1 PBL Video: TOYS & PLAY...this video captures all of the hard work and fun we've had throughout the toy designing/building process!

Final Products:

The students made toys for their friend using recycled materials. They had so much fun presenting and receiving a special toy based on their friend's preferences. The students became toy experts while implementing all the elements of STEAM via reading books about force and motion, Family Game Night on Flipgrid, designing the final toy, making blueprints of the toy, and sorting objects based on attributes.


Harry used pink construction paper, pipe cleaner, a cup, and a straw to make Noelle's helicopter & Noelle used our lunch tray, construction paper, and pipe cleaner to make Harry's robot.


Christian used a cardboard box, the top to our lunch tray, and construction paper to make Marcus' cool car & Marcus used our lunch tray, pipe cleaner, and construction paper to make Christian's robot.


June made a cool light blue and red car for Kali using cardboard, construction paper, and the other recycled materials & Kali made a unicorn for June using paper and the streamers from a pom-pom for her mane. It was stuffed using grocery bags.


Samreen made the perfect mermaid using colored paper & Cecelia made a fancy unicorn for Samreen using paper and streamers.


These cool cars are ready to roll! Leona wanted pink windows and Miraya wanted silver windows. They used cardboard, paper, and our lunch tray to make each other's toys.


Colson made a cool car for Oliver using a cardboard box and pictures of all the things he likes from a magazine & Oliver made an extraordinary spinning top for Colson. It was adorned with streamers.


Kashton built a monster truck for Brayden by completely using a cardboard box and colored paper. He wanted the top to look like the shape of fire & Brayden made a truck for Kashton using a tissue box and construction paper.


Brooklyn made a beautiful, colorful parrot (perched on a branch) for Lily using paper and markers & Lily made a unicorn for Brooklyn using the same materials. Both were stuffed with tissues.


These girls wanted LOL dolls! Ayla made an LOL dollhouse for Edenna with all the fixings & Edenna made an LOL poster doll for Ayla using paper and a paper towel roll.


These girls wanted two totally different spaces! Victoria got just what she wanted...a big, purple dollhouse made with a cardboard box with many rooms. Each room was filled with pictures from a magazine & Anna Claire wanted a kitchen. It's ready for all the baking she wants to do!
