Although the Neolithic Era brought many advancements in humanity it also led the world down a rabbit hole of problems. After the creation of farming, women’s jobs weren’t as centered gathering and more on their main purpose to take care of the children. Religion and social classes tie together directly in many cases. For example, the Mandate of Heaven includes both by saying the only person fit to rule would be someone who was chosen by the gods. This perfectly shows how social stratification led to people thinking their job was more important than others.
Three of the most influential technologies were knapping , farming, and water irrigation. Knapping was the original way to make tools. It consists of breaking one rock with a firmer rock, and was very important when making fires, weapons, and other tools. Farming was by far the most important development, because it meant that civilizations could be made. These civilizations were call River valley civilizations. Water irrigation came later and was helpful in refining the farming process. This method was seen being used in Egypt and Mesopotamia.
Interregional trade routes were commonly use by pastoralists and was used to spread many things. For example, different cultures were spread this way as well as new technologies. Religion was also spread this way by universalizing religions. This includes Islam and christianity. These routes were always very exclusive and sometimes dangerous. For example the Silk Roads were a route used to transport special delicate goods.
Centralized governments were where the entire civilization was ruled by one government. A good example of this would be the Chinese Dynasties. They used the Mandate of Heaven to pick a ruler. Decentralized governments usually consisted of multiple city-states who were all technically one empire, but ruled as its own state. Greece is an example of a huge empire with many city-states. They were divided by natural boundaries, which lead to completely separate governments. Some even went to war with each other like Athens and Sparta.
