Bandsaw Box Project
Project Breif
Engineering Design Notebook
What was the intended function of your box and how does the design contribute to the function.Ā
The intended of my box is to hold different things that I need a place for.
The box shape helps it make it easy to open and store things inside o my box.
Describe one thing you are most proud of about the box itself.Ā
I am most proud of my coat of stain that I put on the box
Describe one thing about your physical box you would improve on if you could do it again.Ā
Make it evenly flat all around.
What is one challenge you faced while doing this project that you were able to overcome and how did you overcome it?Ā Ā
When I glued the sides on they were uneven but I was able to sand it down.
What is one skill that you learned so well in this project that you would feel comfortable teaching it to another student?Ā Ā
The 3d Printing processs
Even though everyone ended with their own project, how did teamwork/collaboration play a role in this project?Ā Offer specific shout outs to acknowledge those who helped you.Ā Ā
Teamwork played a pretty big role when it came to understanding how to do something because when I was unsure what to do when I was 3D Printing Owen and William helped me with the process.
We made a working hit and lase sensor this will go on my board to detect if they hole it or hit and land it on the board.
This is my 1:6 scale model of my board. This made it so that we could draw our final design on our board. My design represents the track and field at Drew, which is a big and important to this school. We used Glowforge to laser-cut the board.
The top of the board is where we will put the design for the board wich will assasiate this board with track and feild at drew charter school and also 25 years of drew.
The side is where I will put my Led on the board so that it can be played at night.
This shows where the LEDs go on the side and where the design goes on the top.
This is the top of our board and you can see the theme of track and feild on our board.
This is the perspective view of our board and you can see the "2024 state runner up" on the side showing the accomplishment of Drews track and feild.
This is the bottom of my board and you can the the components and all of the technology that we have added into our board.
This video shows the chaser working as the dot goes in a full loop around the board, also it shows all of the beambreakers and newpixels working togeather.
The infinity mirror project tasked us with creating and 3d printing an infinity mirror and creating five different patterns to switch between. We used Onshape to create the clips and sides. We also used Onshape and Glowforge to laser cut our mirror acrylic and put on mirror film.
ForĀ the prototype we created our five patterns and added all of the components so that we could easily transfer the electronics to our final product.
This side shows how the infinity mirror works reflecting the like making it look like it is going on forever.
This side shows my 3d printed base and clips allowing the infinity mirror to stay togeather.
You can see the wire where I power my infinity mirror and the button
This is a video of my final product from the infinity mirror project. You are able to see me switch between my patterns with my button.
