This is the desk when I glued and clamped on the legs so they would stay on. I used a level to make sure they were all the same angle.
This is the finished box. It is completely done and I will be using it later after I clean it.
Before I glued on the legs
After I glued on the legs.
Before I stained the wood
After I stained the wood brown and gray
Before cut the leg pieces down to size
I cut the leg pieces into 4 equal sizes
This is my desk before staining
I stained all surfaces of my desk and made it 2 toned.
This is an image before I sanded it and also filled in the cracks with sawdust and wood glue.
This is an image of the table after I sanded it. The edges are sharper and the cracks are filled in.
I had just cut the wood into thirds and i also have my plank of wood
I glued and nailed them together.
I had a big wooden plank
I helped cut this wood into six equal parts. (I only need 1)
I cut a long piece of wood with the table saw
I cut the long piece of wood into three equal parts.
This is a new plank of wood before cutting it with the table saw.
This is the wood after cutting it with the tale saw.
This is the wood I cut last class before any new change
This is the wood after I ran it through the planer saw a couple times to make it have more even & smooth surfaces.
I had a large piece of wood that needed to be cut.
I cut it into half longways. I gave away one side because I only need 1
This is the cut list I made for my computer stand. Here are all the pieces I need to cut out.
our new project is to make a computer stand, mine will have folding legs. This is the computer stand I want to make.
I have now successfully taken the camera apart their are lots of parts in the camera. I was right about the parts in the camera as you can see from all the parts above.
Today in class I am taking apart this camera. This camera can record a 360 degrees angle. I think there is a lens, screws, bolts, and a battery in this camera.
these are the projects contraints
This is the scheduale for the mini project. We have 5 total class periods to finish it.
Today I looked around the internet to find wood designs that I could make.
My idea is to build a box that has mutiple areas to store things.
Today in class I used the band saw and the belt sander, to cut my walls. I cut out 5 of my walls using the band saw and sanded them to remove splinters.
Today in class I used the band saw and the belt sander, to cut my walls. I cut out more of my walls using the band saw and sanded them to remove splinters.
I cut more sides out for my project. Using the bandsaw and sander.
I started to assemble my pieces into boxes. I used wood glue and a nail gun to hold them together.
This is my project it is a box with dividers. The project size constraints were to be less than 18x18x18 and the final dimensions are . It was expected that my project was made out of 6 or more parts. My project has been made out of 7 parts. I give my craftsmanshhip a 7/10 for this proect because the cuts are not perfectly straight and their are overhanging edges.
The part of my project I am most proud of is the sides that fit together perfectly. Not all the sides fit perfectly together but the ones that are look good. The box is 8 1/4" x 9" x 4 3/4"
I have four light patterns for my geolamp.
yellow chaser
white chaser
yellow and white flash
yellow then white flash
I assembled this box buy using tape, wood glue, and small amounts of hot glue. I used the tape and hot glue to keep the sides together while the wood glue dried
In this phase of my project I worked on coding my geolamp with three different light patterns.
Before I could assemble my geolamp I had to make a inkscape file for the pieces. I measured my prototype and then added each shape individually to inkscape.
I cut out my shapes by using a website called glowforge, glowforge connects to a laser printer and allows you to use it or cut or engrave things. First added the inkscape file to the glowfrorge website. Next I moved few things around to make them all fit. Then lastly I put in the material and started it.
Today I learned I am going to make geometric motion lamp.
Above are the requirements for the lamp. To be considered advanced there will be some extra constraints.
Above are the steps that we are going to take for the electronics/coding portion of the project
Above are the steps we are going to take for the physical enclosure portion of the project.
The first prototype I made of my bolt was a practice become better befre doing the second prototype.
I made my seond prototype with a laser cutter for exact cuts. I madde this one to hold the leds, wires, and motherboard.
I made this prototype with the laser cutter as well. But in this on I tried my best to make it perfectly.
Today I measured and cut out cardboard to make a cube. We hot glued it together to make all the pieces connect.
Today I coded my Pico. I also added 2 wires and an led.
We had to plug the wires into the Pico at GND and GP14
Today I coded my Pico so that it would blink slower and faster.
Today I coded my device to make a stop light pattern, and it does all the colors of the stop light.
Today I drew four shapes I could possibly use for my project.
Today I drew up my model of my lamp. I included leds and a neopixel
I drew numbers for the number of shapes I need.
I taped together all my pieces. When I did this it was pretty hard to do the smalle pieces
Today I made my second prototype of my geo lamp. The hardest part was fitting the wires inside of the box.
Today we learned we are going to make bandsaw boxes as our first project.
The purpose of the project is to learn how to use the tools safety.
These are the skills we are expected to learn from the end of the project.
Practice Puzzle 1 & 2
Today was the first time we used the band saw so we mad a puzzle.
Today we made another puzzle using the bandsaw.
Bandsaw Safety We have now been trained to operate the bandsaw safely. Here are so do's and don'ts to follow while operating the bandsaw.
Do Don't
1) Stay focused 1) Leave on
2) Clean up after 2) Cut fingers
3) Wear goggles 3) Break the tools
We have now been trained to operate the planer saw safety. Here are some do's and don'ts to follow while operating the planer.
Do's Don'ts
-Attach the vacuum -Don't use wood with with nails in it
-Wear safety equipment -Cut anything other than wood
-Unplug after use -Don't look into the saw when its on
We have now been trained to operate the planer saw safety. Here are some do's and don'ts to follow while operating the miter saw.
Do's Don'ts
-Hands behind the safety line -Put the wire in way of saw
-Clean after finished -Reach under blade when its spinning
-Wear safety equipment -Have tie hanging out
Today we are customizing our box with a stencil of our names, but first we had to make our stencil.
Today we glued the two pieces of wood together so that we have a box.
I put a stencil with my name on it onto some cardboard to practice, then I spray painted it.
I peeled back the sticker and this is what I got.
In this image I drew cubes with openings in them. We learned how and wear to shade in the shape.
In this image I drew a cube with two holes in it. This image is where I really began to understand depth,
In this image I drew three cubes connected to each other. We were practicing how to draw shapes further down the construction lines.
In this image I drew a cube. This was the first drawing practice I did.
In this image I drew a charger box. The most challenging part of this illustration was to draw the metal pieces at the end of the box.
In this image I drew a wood block our teacher showed us in class.
Today in class we cut out the middle of the box to make a ramp like figure. We used the bandsaw to cut out the box and practiced with a smaller box.
Today in class we glued back on the sides of the box. We put glue on the sides and glued the pallets of wood back on. After I glued i put clamps onto the box.
Today I sanded the inside of my box to make it smoother.
Today in class I sanded my box so that it is completely smooth.
Today I designed a knob for my box. I decided on a diamond shape.
Today I printed my diamond shaped knob for my box. I used my design on tinker cad for this shape.
Today in class I spray painted my name onto a box using a stencil. I had tape over the parts that I didn't want to get painted.
Today I used some wood stainer to stain my wood. I learned not to add much stain to my cloth.
Today I glued on my handle to the lid of my box.
After I glued I put back on my lid to see if everything would fit well and it did.
