Moving on to 10th grade where we had an PBL project “ Food for thought” This project was to teach us the history behind cultures like what they eat , what they dressed like and also going back in the day to see the difference of then vs now. I played a part in this project by creating a ceramic bowl that had an piece of avocado in it. symbolizing the type of bowls they used in the Columbian exchange. Dr Kurt our teacher, supplied us with clay that we had to watch an tuturial on how to use it and assemple the pieces properly he also taught us about the glazing part of working with clay, Glazing clay is adding a liquid coating to pottery, then firing it to create a smooth, colored, and waterproof finish. Once we were finished with th eglazing part of it we waited a few days and was able to showcase them during the pbl showcase. During this project I learned a lot more about working with clay than I knew before.
Thank you for your time.
