In this project, I was in a group with 3 other students making a children's book about a group of elements. My group had the Alkali Metals. We found out that the Alkali had very low melting points and they were explosive in water. We used the characteristics of the elements to give background stories to them. In our story, the Alkali, the elements , are a team of heroes fighting beings of water (the H2O s) to save other Alkali. We used a perspective drawing, a skill we were taught in class, as one of our scenes.
In this project, the class was broken down into 3 stations. The stations had materials to let the class see what it was like to work as a group in an ancient civilization. In our starting stations, my group was told to make a sheltering structure with bamboo and twine. The group did not finish, but we did set a foundation for the next groups. In our next station, we had to make a brick. Some of our group gathered dirt (with a shovel of course), some took a hose and added water to the dirt, and some added pinestraw to the mixture. A few people mixed the materials with their feet to make it clay-like. Afterwards, the group worked together to put the mixture inside a mold. It is my group's belief that we made the best shaped brick in our class. In the next station, we were working independently to make pottery. There were 2 techniques to make it, and I took the path that seemed easiest to me. The pottery that I made didn't look that bad. If my class was in the civilization, I believe that we wouldn't survive as a society because it took a long time for everyone to build structures.
The class did a simulation of the Columbian Exchange. The class was split into two groups representing the hemispheres. I was on the team of western hemisphere, and with two others, were kicked out the game as a simulaton of disease. The teacher was a jugde to see who would cook a better meal.
During the quartine period of 2020, the class had to parnter up to make a newspaper. I teamed up with Johnathan and helped with the outline of the newspaper. I did the editorals, the polictical cartoons, and the commentary. Johnathan and I worked on the citations together, and Johnathn did the rest. It's not the best newspaper, but we tried our best.
On November 2, we will say a speech to empower people. My topic is about music making people feel better about their day.
Over the course of the school year, students were making a 60 book. For my book, I did a novel with pictures. It is called Receo Academy. We had to make a book cover and trailer for the book. The music for this trailer was made on earsketch by yours truly. It was supposed to be published on 4/24/20. (I know it says the 4/2/20, but that is a typo in the tralier.) It did not get published.
In this project, groups are working together with spheros as traffic lights or cars going across a street. It is a test of our coding skills. The goal is for the cars to follow the street lights.
I drew Johnathan Lovett. I drew him because we were working together. We usually work together anyway. Johnathan is not hard to work with and we’re really close friends. Before making this project, I did not know I was going to use 303 lines of code.
The project wasn’t that hard. In fact, it was only time consuming. I did like that I did well on my project. There were a few challenging parts, like the eyes. I really did not want them to be so circle-like. Also, hair was difficult to do. Even though I mainly did arcs, it still didn’t feel right. The whole arc was the problem. The arc was never the correct size for the distance I wanted.
So, I choose to work with what I had. Even though it would have been easier to have ellipses, we didn’t know how to make ellipses yet. Even though the arcs did not seem to be the right angles, I took time to make it the best I could make it. All I had to do was put in the work.
For this project we had to make a song on Earsketch with at least 8 tracks, 3 functions, 2 loops, and 3 effects. I had to write at least one paragraph to explain how this song and/or sound describes your personality. I named the song Introversed.
These sounds represent my personality. The song is supposed to have an ominous sound. I am an unusual person so I think the song fits. It is very lively, and I’m the type who seems extremely peppy at times. Introversed is my personality.
I had to chose five objects from my house or from your backpack for Spanish vocabulary I already knew. I had to arrange the objects so I could describe their position, and then take a picture. I had to put that picture in a GoogleDoc, and write 10 sentences in Spanish describing the objects’ positions using a variety of prepositions.
