Box presentation.
1) I had to sketch out my box so I could get an idea of what my box is going to look like. I drew what my lid should look like and what my walls should be like. I drew hinges for my lid.
2) I got myself a 2 by 4 and took it to the table saw. The table saw makes the sides of the 2 by 4 smooth and strait.
3) After I went to the table saw I went to the planner. The planner smooths the top and bottom of the 2 by 4.
4) After I finished the planner I used the miter saw. I made my measurements and cut my pieces.
5) When I finished cutting out my pieces I went to the biscuit. The biscuit jointer makes little groves in the wood and you put little wooden biscuits in the grooves with wood glue.
6) Then when I finished the biscuit jointer I clamp my pieces I biscuit jointed. I put a heavy piece of wood on top of my pieces and clamped them to the table. The clamps just hold what ever to a table.
7) Right when I finished the biscuit jointer I started sanding with the orbital sander. I sanded the lid, walls and bottom of the box before I put them together.
8)After that I put my box together and put wood putty on. Woody puddy is just wood shavings and wood glue mixed together. I put the wood putty in the cracks of the box so it looks normal.
9) Right after I did the wood puddy I sanded my box then put wood stain on my box. Wood stain stains the wood to make the the box color pop out more.
10) After I did that I put hinges on my box so it could open and close.
Craftsmanship is important because it really helps you out in the long run of building things. I think my craftsman ship on my bo is a 10/10

American Government
In Unit 1: Foundation Basics, we learned about the different forms of government. To help us learn them, we read government cards with key characteristics of the governments and drew pictures that related to each. Here are some of my drawings.
