Outside of Drew, I like to stay involved and try new things that help me grow. I am a member of the Warren Boys & Girls Club, Breakthrough Atlanta, and Bridge to Employment, where I’ve gained new experiences and built important skills for my future. Along with that, I’ve recently discovered a fun hobby—I really enjoy making posters, which gives me a creative outlet.
Since the sixth grade, I have been a member of the Warren Boys & Girls Club, where they have assisted me in developing a variety of abilities, including self-expression, dedication, leadership, and social interactions. This year the Warren Boys & Girls Club nominated me their Youth of the Year, where I went to programs to work on essays, presentations, interviewing skills, public and girl on girl empowerment. I also had to practice public speaking because I had to memorize a speech and recite it both at the preliminary and the gala. After that, I worked as a youth worker at the Boys & Girls Club for three months, helping the younger children with their homework and activities.
Here down below are some videos about myself and my journey at the Youth of the Year program.
Since seventh grade, I been involved in the Breakthrough Atlanta program, which prepares middle school students for middle school and high school, in addition to high school students and seniors for college. This picture is the affirmation that all Breakthrough Atlanta members must recite.
Teachers recommended this program of study to me. This program is assisting me in being more at ease when considering my goals and ideal future. They offer a range of STEM-related field trips, engaging games, team-building exercises, labs, and tours. The medical tools lab and lab visits were my favorite program activities since they truly assisted me in deciding whether or not to become a pediatrician.
