Kendeda Building at GA Tech
Our first graders will have the pleasure of visiting the Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design on the campus of Georgia Tech. The Kendeda Building is a 47, 000 square foot indoor/outdoor multidisciplinary, educational building. It was designed and constructed to meet the Living Building Challenge, the world’s most ambitious living performance standard.
Located in the heart of Atlanta, The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design at Georgia Tech was created to foster environmental education, research, and a public forum for community outreach.

Our first graders came face-to-face with nature while closely observing plants and animals in their natural habitat. Students were able to observe majestic landscapes, while also learning about the water cycle and how it's powered by the sun.
With the knowledge of what’s happening to our Earth, students paused to think about what would happen to these trees and other animal habitats if we do not make better environmental choices. They also made note of what natural resources these animals use in their daily lives and what will happen when these natural resources are no longer available.
