Ms. Thomas, Wellness Specialist, led students in several mindful breathing and calming body techniques to enhance concentration and support scholars with social-emotional well-being.
My. Tyler led a "wake up yoga flow" that showed students three poses they can use to start the day with more energy; as well as help ground themselves when their emotions are getting the best of them. The purpose was met as students gave great insight to how they felt before and after doing the poses.
Dr. Teresa Jordan explained the importance of eating healthy foods and refraining from eating processed and sugary snacks and foods.
After practicing as a general dentist in the metro Atlanta area for three years, Dr. Teresa Jordan returned to Howard University College of Dentistry and completed additional training in pediatric dentistry. Dr. Jordan is board certified and a diplomat of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
The staff of Ellenwood Animal Hospital shared valuable information with our first graders about the needs of pets like dogs and cats. The students really enjoyed this experience.
