this year we are being challenged to make a pinball machine for our culminating project for our engineering pathway.
Above is the requirements list for our project.
This project will use all disciplines of STEAM.
Today we learned wiring best practices and received our breakout boards and wired them up using our breakout boards.
Today we coded our break out board to light up in a circle one by one. The serial is a trouble shooter for your code so it tells you errors in the code.
Today we coded our score board to light up and say the score and update on score using a breakout board.
This is a video of a start button on a pinball machine we learned about and played.
This video represents a launcher for a pinball machine we learned about and played with.
This is a picture of a target in a pinball machine we looked at and played.
Stairs
We used extrusion, and center point rectangle.
Robot Sides
We used center point rectangle, linear pattern, and mirror.
Rectangles & Circles
We used, corner rectangle, and circle.
Rectangles
We used corner rectangle, center point rectangles, and dimension tool.
Drawing practice on Onshape 9/27/23
Target
Pyramid
Disk
Donut
Drawing Practice on Onshape 10/18/23
Bracket
we used onshape to create a rectangle, then we used the sketch fillet to cut out corners and make them round.
Cricle Bracket
We used onshape to create a circle, then we cut out smaller circles.
Per wiring best practices, we are only supposed to use red wires for powered and only use black wires for ground. Other colors are used for signal. You can see in this image..

This project was very difficult in many different ways. It offered many challenges for me and my partner to overcome and taught us great critical thinking skills. From components breaking and code not working it all causes many challenges and set backs throughout the project. We were also able to be very creative with this project as we were able to design our machine head to toe how we wanted. It also made us get very hands on with out project, we had to modify and create all of our components ourselves, and we had to do so in a way that they worked well and consistently.
