Bubbles Lab
In this lab my group and I made hypothesis about which brand of soap we thought would produce the biggest bubble.
Then we poured out small puddles of each soap on the table and used a straw to blow bubbles.
We did this 3 times per soap and we came to the conclusion that Palmolive produced the biggest bubble.
Airplane Lab
In this lab we tested how additional weight affected the distance traveled of an object moving in the air.
We gave roles to everyone in our group, then we created our paper airplane.
We measured the distance the airplane traveled without any additional weight. Then we added a paper clip, measured the new distance, and repeated.
At the end we came to the conclusion that more weight actually helped the airplane move farther.
This lab helped us understand how experiments work and how weight effects distance.
How might cultural and historical contexts have shaped scientific discoveries in making the periodic table?
I think cultural and historical context shaped scientific discoveries because the only people who significantly impacted the periodic table were all similar in gender and kind of race. If someone of other race or gender had found these discoveries, they may not have been seen as true because of prejudice. Also the main people who found these discoveries were Russian, German, and French. There were also translators that were able to spread the knowledge between the similar languages.

Today we chose our groups for our new project, which was making a video about a story in an ancient civilization that had a message that could relate to modern issues. In our groups, we chose to create our project about Ancient Egypt answered our questions. I did research to learn more about Ancient Egypt and its communities so we could create a great story.
My contributions:
Religion:
How did religious beliefs and divine beings guide the behavior of people in this civilization?
brandon
The many gods people believed in dictated how they lived their lives, how they treated others, how they worked and farmed, and everything they believed about the afterlife. The ziggurats served as ritual locations that allowed people to commune with the gods. The people of Ancient Egypt saw the pharaohs as gods because of their power, which was given to them only by kinship. Examples of gods were: Isis(Goddess of the moon), Thoth(God of wisdom), and Osiris(God of the underworld).
Society:
How are communities organized in this civilization, and what are their values?
brandon
Communities in Ancient Egypt formed around shared belief in the same God. In Abydos, one of the most ancient cities in Egypt, the citizens all worshiped the god of the dead Osiris. They built monuments and temples in their city to worship their tutelary god and based their values and ideals off of them.

On this day we created out Presentation for how we were going to show our video to the class. We also made sure he had everything else we needed that Ms. Wynn would grade in our final project score.

Today every group presented their video and the messages it conveyed. My group did the same and everone liked ours. I'm glad our presentation went well and I hope our group receives a good grade on this assignment.
In Photography 1, I'll learn how to capture moments and turn them into amazing quality images. I’ll explore the basics of how a camera works, how to compose a good photo, and how light and shadows can change the way my pictures look. Whether I’m using a smartphone or a professional camera, this course will help me understand the key elements of taking beautiful and meaningful photographs.
9 Composition include: Worms eye, Vanishing point, texture, rule of thirds, repetition, radio, framing, fill the frame, and birds eye.

Chemistry relates to paper making through the breakdown and bonding of plant fibers. Water helps separate the fibers, and chemicals can be used to strengthen or color the paper. Hand made paper can be an art form because of its unique textures, colors, and designs. Artists can add flowers, dyes, or patterns to create beautiful and creative paper.

In this lab, we tested whether coconut oil could replace wax in tie dyeing by using it to create resist patterns on fabric. Blueberries were boiled to create a natural dye, and the fabric was submerged to absorb the color. After drying and rinsing, we observed how well the coconut oil worked as a resist. Our results showed that the oil melted due to temperature, but the experiment helped us understand the bonding process between dye molecules and fabric fibers.
This weaving experience involved creating a heart shape by interlacing two different color paper strips. The process required careful threading of the strips to form a checkered pattern, demonstrating patience and precision. The final result is a visually appealing woven heart, combining creativity and basic crafting skills.
