Space is the New Place Spanish: Global Conflicts & Impact
Hola!
My project focuses on animal crimes but primarly it discusses the main issue discussed in the article, Illegal Animal Trade. The article I read opened my eyes and shed light on to the harsh abuse animals go throught due to trafficking. Their skins and furs are sold for money, completley disregarding their lives and in my project, I discuss what should be done to correct it. This is very important to know as it gives us humans an opportunity to be selfless and help with crime going on in animal environments. In my reflection paragraph, I gave the idea to educate those who are not familiar with the issues in animal environments so they can contribute to the cause as well.
Artistic Idol Project
Artist Statement
I chose my artist by searching through my current and future career, photography, and in doing so, I found Gordon Parks. Gordon Parks is a notable photographer of the 20th century, and his work was based on social realism during segregation and racism. My work relates to this not by directly copying his artwork, but by adopting his genre of photography and crafting my own narrative within it. In post-production of my artwork, I enhanced the sharpness and quality of the subject in the images and converted them to monochrome to evoke a similar feel to Gordon’s artworks during his career. In conclusion, I enjoyed creating my own social realism images and look forward to doing so again in the future.
Food For Thought PBL (Visual Arts)
The goal of my Food for Thought project was to execute the simple clay making skills I learned into each piece. Other classes like AP World History were related to this project because we were tasked to make clay pieces that relate to the Columbian Exchange. For art, I made clay pieces inspired by African Pottery and the Columbian Exchange while also incorporating the simple clay making skills we learned such as Pinch, Coil and Glaze. This helped me make the decision of what I wanted to do for this project. The techniques and strategies I used in making these clay pieces is using a paint brush to help me make the coil on top of the bowl cup. I also used a paint brush to create the indentions and pattern on the cup lid. This bowl cup is related to the Columbian exchange because during that period of time, Africans would have bowl cups they would use to eat and cook food in. What didn’t work for me in this project was keeping up with my items and making sure it was fully completed which is a issue I eventually resolved but was troubling. If I had more time, I would have made my slab piece neater and more visually appealing. Overall, this Food For Thought was a great experience and I would love to do a project like this again.

Algebra First Semester Reflection
During first semester, my skill to complete equations improved dramatically and my understanding of algebra improved. Although, my work ethic did decrease due to the work load and difficulty of some tasks. I learned best with edpuzzles and slideshow lessons where we take notes. This semester, I want to minimize missing assignments and study more to finish with an A in this class. Lastly, I would like to see a 2-3 person group project this semester.
The Runaway Short Film (World Literature)
Our short film is a fictional story that connects to our learning in AP World History about confucianism. It is directed and shot by me, Brayden Harris, in monochrome to give an ancient feel during the times of Chinese Confucianism.
