Hi, my name is Ariel Gray and I'm 17 years old. I’m a part of the Cradle to College at Drew. I’ve been at Drew Charter School since I was in kindergarten at Charles R. Drew Elementary School. I’ve also been in the East Lake community since I was in Pre-K at Sheltering Arms. While being at Drew, I’ve won Ms. 9th Grade, Ms.10th Grade, and This year I’m Homecoming Queen. Winning Homecoming Queen was one of my greatest accomplishments and I truly enjoy helping set up events for Drew. Throughout my years, I’ve joined academic clubs and organizations such as the Student Government Association, National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, BETA Club, Flight Club, Secretary of Chick-fil-A Club, and Advanced Dance. At Drew, I dance and play varsity volleyball. I've been dancing since I was 5 years old I've been dancing and one of the studios that helped me accelerate is Dance 411. Sadly, this dance studio has now been closed down due to unforeseen circumstances. When I was a little girl, I was also a part of the Jr. Falcon cheerleaders. I was Co-captain on the Varsity Volleyball team at Drew. I've been on the volleyball team for 3 years. I've also been a part of the Eagles of Elegance dance team at Drew. I also love getting my hair and nails done. I have an older brother who was a part of the legacy class here at Drew, he went to Alabama A&M University and is now an aerospace engineer. I like being out with my friends and going on late-night drives. I want to be a travel nurse and live a luxurious life. I am attending the illustrious North Carolina Central University to pursue my pediatric or NICU nurse career. Once I get to my HBCU, I want to try out for their majorette dance team and participate in clubs on my school campus. As I prepare to graduate from the same school that has been my educational home for so many years, I reflect on the significant moments, lessons learned, bonds I formed, and the physical/mental growth that has characterized my time spent at Drew.
