Neurons and trees share similar structures and functions. The dendrites of neurons are like the leaves of a tree, as they receive signals from other neurons, just like leaves collect sunlight. The cell body of a neuron is comparable to the trunk of a tree, acting as the main support and processing center for information. The axon in neurons is similar to the roots of a tree, as it transmits electrical signals from the cell body, just as roots distribute nutrients to the tree. Myelin, which covers the axon, functions like the bark of a tree, providing insulation and protection to speed up signal transmission. At the end of the neuron, the axon terminal is like the branches of a tree, where information is passed on to other neurons, similar to how branches extend to interact with the environment.
