This year we are no longer funding use of the SoL Attendance Tracker centrally. However, because we have some funding carried over from last academic year, we are able to continue for this academies that wish to, for one further year. After this academies are free to continue with SoL if they wish, but would need to fund it from their own budget.
The academies who will be using the SoL Attendance Tracker in 2023/24 from remaining funds are confirmed as:
Cedar Road
Eastfield
Edward Heneage
Endike
The Abbey
Thomas Hinderwell
The Sol system runs most successfully when you:
Hold weekly accountability meetings – Attendance Officer and Lead should meet (preferably) on a Monday to add actions for all students with red downwards arrows from the previous week. You will need to agree who is to hold these meetings and what the escalation process will look like.
Review the previous week’s actions to see if they have been completed. Mark any outstanding actions in red text for follow up on the tracker. Staff accountability is vital to the system.
Share the tracker with all staff, for the tracker to be shared on the board with all students with a green or gold arrow. Staff will need to be shown how to filter to their class and to then sort the weekly change column largest to smallest and then hide the red arrow students. (Remember that all contextual info and actions should be hidden and not displayed on the board).
Start a Leavers folder – this should include the following:
A list of students on modified timetables / alternative provision (B and D code) with details of how they are monitored. This should also include any safeguarding disclaimers from the provisions that you are sending your students to. All B codes should have a comment on the register to confirm that you have had daily confirmation that the student has attended the provision.
Leavers Report shown from Bromcom (regularly printed and added to the front of the folder.
Any students entered as ‘Other’ will need explanation and evidence
Any student entered as ‘Missing’, CME paperwork should be produced
Sol Leavers form (attached) to act as a cover sheet for every removal from roll, to be signed by you before the leaving date is added for any student. All evidence for removal from roll should be attached to this.
Ensure you are notifying the LA each time a student is removed from roll, and record this on the bottom of the Leavers form.
You can access SoL Resources (if you are a SoL user only) from the folder below:
