School Games

The School Games is the national approach to competitive school sport designed to motivate and inspire all young people. Delivered locally by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport and School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPAN). The School Games provides a year-round calendar of competition for all students across the county, involving young people aged 7-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds.

We support our schools to run intra-school competitions and events (Level 1). This ensures that all young people can experience competitive sports and also supports the preparation and selection of school teams to participate at Level 2.

North Charnwood SSPAN run a broad series of inter-school (level 2) competitions in which local schools compete against each other.

Winning teams from North Charnwood inter-school competitions represent their locality at Leicester-Shire & Rutland county final events. These county finals run throughout the year in a variety of sports, or the finals are included in the multi-sport Championship events.
