Food Stamps:

Guidance: AmeriCorps members qualify for government assistance food benefits (ie - food stamps). Too often many members don’t check this out but they’re missing out on an incredible savings cost that is available to them to help support the cost of living under an AmeriCorps stipend.

  • Note: 3SquaresVT Benefits have specific eligibility guidance for receiving 3SquaresVT. Make sure to review the eligibility to see if you qualify for Food Stamps.
• 3SQUARESVT GOES ONLINE - If you get 3SquaresVT, you can now use the:
  • Food benefits on your EBT card to buy eligible items on Amazon.com and have them delivered right to your door.

FREE Food For Youth

• Free Food in and around our NVT programs
• USDA Food and Nutrition Service

Affordable and/or Free Food Resources for Adults

• CSA - 50% off and pay with food stamps
• Crop Cash doubles 3SquaresVT benefits spent at farmers markets (Most other states also have a similar program)
• Meals Ready to Eat (MRE)
• Feeding Chittenden
• South Burlington Food Shelf
• Intervale Center's Fair Share
  • It is for families who are low income who can come to the center to receive free gleaned (usually organic) produce.
  • There is a possible waitlist
  • July through October
