When to call us for help.
In general you should call us whenever there is an issue with your lawn as some turf issues can quickly cause major damage. Please let us know right away if you see yellowing, browning, matted patches or dying turf.
How does rain affect my application?
● Most applications will benefit from precipitation as "watering in" will help to activate them.
● All applications are rainfast when dry, which typically takes about 45 minutes depending on environmental conditions.
● Wet grass can be effectively treated, although we can't treat standing water or puddles.
● We guarantee the results of every application (including seed), so if there is a specific issue with your lawn, please call us and we'll address it.
A Note on Weed Controls
● Weed controls take time to remove weeds from your lawn.
● There are likely hundreds of millions of weed seeds in your soil.
● Herbicides are effective, but no product is 100% effective.
● The goal is to build a dense stand of turf, that is naturally resistant to weed incursion.
● We use herbicides as a tool in that process, but they are not the entire solution.
● Building a dense stand of turf may mean yearly seeding (with a weed free seed) for a fescue lawn, or carefully promoting a warm season lawn.
● Regardless of the turf type, proper mowing & watering will be critical steps in this process.
● Mowing is especially important as weeds do not die quickly unless they are mowed and kept in an active growth state.
● Typically it takes a few years to build a "Dreamlawn", and we very much want to get you to that point, it is after all the very purpose of our business. We promise that we'll work as hard as possible to control weeds.
● Please call us if you see weeds in your lawn between applications. We'll spot treat them at no additional charge as appropriate.
● Please DO NOT apply any herbicide to them yourself if we are treating your lawn as this can cause significant damage to the lawn.
● Please do not pull weeds. Some (such as spotted spurge) are dangerous. Many (such as nutsedge) will be spread by pulling. There are a few rare exceptions (such as Dallisgrass), but we'll advise you of exceptions as they appear.
