How the ADHD assessment works
Our ADHD assessments are staged and follow national best-practice guidelines. This helps ensure the assessment is thorough, accurate, and safe.
1. Firstly, complete the questionnaires. If you contact our reception (sharronjill@gmail.com) these will be emailed to you.
2. Then book a Nurse Practioner screening appointment.
At this visit:
Blood tests are required.
Baseline measurements will be taken (height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate)
An ECG is required for patients aged 45 years and over – this will be an extra cost of $55
Any other safety checks required prior to assessment will be completed
3. A followup appointment with either the Nurse Practioner, or the General Practitioner to initiate a treatment plan.
4. Finally a review is required 4 weeks after starting treatment.
If medication is started, a review appointment is required approximately 4 weeks after starting treatment, or earlier if there are any concerns. This review is an important part of safe prescribing and ongoing care.
Fees and payment
The ADHD assessment fee is $200. Ongoing consultation fees will depend on time and complexity.
