I'm thrilled that your student has decided to attend the 2018 Wisconsin DECA Emerging Leaders Conference (ELC). At this year’s Emerging Leaders Conference, students will build the skills, create ideas, and receive opportunities to grow as leaders. This conference is packed full of engaging general sessions, interactive breakouts, and plenty of opportunity for students to build their network of Wisconsin DECA members from around the state.
By now, your student should have let you know that they must sign a Wisconsin DECA Code of Conduct to participate in any DECA events this school year. In case they haven't mentioned it yet, the form is available here: Wisconsin DECA Student Code of Conduct. Students will not be permitted to enter the conference at the Kalahari until this is signed, so please fill this out as soon as possible, and by October 20 at the latest. You will only need to sign this once during this school year, regardless of the number of Wisconsin DECA events your student participates in.
We will plan to depart after lunch on Monday, October 29th and should return by the end of the school day on Tuesday, October 30th. Prior to leaving DHS, an administrator will perform a bag check to ensure no illegal or controlled substances are along for the ride.
Monday: Business Casual: Casual slacks, blouse or shirt, socks, and casual shoes.
Tuesday : Conference t-shirt, black or khaki pants/skirt, casual shoes.
Don't forget a swimsuit for the waterparks!
Your students registration fee covered the following:
Two days of professional leadership based workshops, professional development, as well as DECA and WI DECA training and updates.
Three Meals: Monday dinner, Tuesday breakfast and lunch
Wristbands for the Kalahari Resort Indoor Theme Park and all Kalahari water parks.
Conference t-shirt
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Sincerely,
Allison Carroll
