DECA’s industry-validated competitive events are available in the career clusters of marketing, business management and administration, finance, and hospitality and tourism. DECA’s flagship evaluation process involves students in both a written component such as an exam or report and an interactive component with an industry professional serving as a judge. DECA’s competitive events directly contribute to every student being college and career ready when they graduate from high school.
As a DHS DECA member you’ll have the opportunity to compete at five levels:

Mini Competition at UW-Whitewater on November 9, 2019 ("scrimmage").
District Competition at Sun Prairie on January 11, 2020.
State Competition (aka SCDC) held over three days in Lake Geneva March 10 - 12, 2020.
International Competition (aka ICDC) held in Nashville, TN April 29 through May 2, 2020 (with additional days for travel).

April 23-26, 2022 | Atlanta, Georgia
April 22-25, 2023 | Orlando, Florida
You can choose to compete in all sorts of events including individual, partner, and team options that include role plays, the online Virtual Business Challenge, research events, and entrepreneurship opportunities. Categories include Business Management, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Finance, Travel & Tourism and much much more! Competitors are awarded proficiency certificates, medals, and trophies based on their performance in component events as well as on their overall performance.
