A One Day seminar on “21ST CENTURY SOFT SKILLS” organised by the Economics Department, Daulat Ram College, University of Delhi by Prof. Shirley Rex (GIMS) for third yearies began with the question WHAT IS PERSONALITY? to which the participants answered as a way of exhibiting ourselves, communication, leadership and so on.
Further the participants engaged in a conversation about soft skills and hard skills, which one is more important,how to work on soft skills and personality building.The speaker progressed on to discussing a very crucial soft skill-Communication. Participants got insights on effective communication,its importance in corporate and real life, professional grooming and positive attitude.Prof.Shirley Rex with her aura led by example and demonstrated the significance of having a cordial personality.Through a captivating exercise towards the end,participants learnt about the Do’s and Don’ts of corporate dressing etiquette. Such enriching sessions will go down a long way in helping students with personality development as we know “FIRST IMPRESSION IS THE LAST IMPRESSION”.
To conclude all the participants were given pens as a token of recognition. Our Joint secretary Aahana Bhandari expressed a vote of thanks to Prof. Shirley Rex on the behalf of our team for such an insightful and interactive session.
