Mr. Tevin Jones, College Liaison
I joined Durham Tech's Department of College Recruitment and High School Partnerships (CRHSP) in February 2020. I serve as a College Liaison at Riverside High School and Homeschool/Private School/Charter schools. My previous career experience includes being a College Adviser in the Carolina College Advising Corps serving Southern Vance High School for two years and then as an Admissions Counselor at Elizabeth City State University. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Complete Residency Determination Service(RDS) at https://ncresidency.cfnc.org/residencyInfo/ to determine your residency status(most likely required depending on the program).
Depending on the program you choose, you may need to complete the application at https://www.cfnc.org/
If the program does not require an application through CFNC.org, please visit the desired program's page for steps to apply.
NOTE: RDS and CFNC use the same username and password so do not create two accounts.
If eligible, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid(FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa (opened December 2023). You will have to create a FSA ID in order to complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA application.
Steps for Enrolling
Activate your Durham Tech account(if you applied through CFNC.org you should have received an email concerning enrollment steps). NOTE: If you did not apply for your program through CFNC, please visit the program's page for more information on enrolling.
Submit your final high school transcript through CFNC.org.
Optional: ConnectSession (orientation for Durham Tech).
Go to https://www.durhamtech.edu/admissions-and-enrollment/academic-advising for Academic Advising to get advised (ready to register) for courses.
Check your financial aid status and complete any additional paperwork if the Financial Aid Office requires it.
Pay the balance or set up payment plan.
Purchase your textbooks.
Be ready for the first day of class (FDOC)!

Employer-Sponsored In-State Tuition
If a student is working at a North Carolina business location, they can have their employer pay their tuition and be charged the in-state tuition cost. If you have any questions about that, please contact me. The link to the policy is below.

Career and College Promise
What is Career and College Promise?
Career and College Promise is a Dual Enrollment program designed to give high school students the opportunity to take college courses TUITION-FREE while in high school. To prepare our students for success, those interested in the Career and College Promise program must attend a CCP Enrollment Interest Meeting. During the meeting, students will learn about program requirements, plans of study, and application process for admission. Parents are welcome to attend. The CCP Enrollment Interest Meeting will be held through Zoom.

High School Dual Credit Allowance Chart for CCP

Two very important notes: In order to receive high school English 3 credit through Durham Tech, you will have to complete the following courses at Durham Tech: ENG-111 AND ENG-112 AND (ENG-231 or ENG-232).
In order to receive high school English 4 credit through Durham Tech, you will have to complete the following courses at Durham Tech: ENG-111, AND ENG-112 AND (ENG-241 or ENG-241)
