Band (Intermediate) (year-long)

For students with prior experience with woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments

Instructor approval required

Band (Proficient) [Honors level]

For students with prior experience with woodwind, brass, or percussion instruments.

Orchestra (Intermediate)

For students with prior experience with violin, viola, cello, and bass

Suggested Schedule

Extracurriculars

For the 2024-2025 school year, students will have to meet the following requirements to join an extracurricular ensemble:

1- Be enrolled in a band or orchestra course*

2- Be passing at least 3 of 4 courses.

*Color guard members or jazz vocalists can be enrolled in band, orchestra, chorus, or dance. 8th grade students zoned for Northern may join marching band. Specialty school students (early college, city of medicine) zoned for Northern may join extracurricular ensembles if they participate in band club or a similar program in which they play their instruments during the school day.
