Standard of Service

STANDARD OF SERVICE FOR BEGINNING TEACHERS

The Standard of Service for Beginning Teachers includes one-on-one service from District BT Mentors and School-Based Mentors; quarterly BT support sessions that include professional development facilitated by District Mentors. 

District Mentors primarily serve BT1s and AL BT 2s with weekly contacts. School-Based Mentors continue to provide support for BT2s and BT3s. All BTs will be served by the District Mentors through quarterly support sessions.

BT 1 AL (Alternative License)

• Regular support from District Mentor 

• Attendance required at Quarterly Support Sessions

• Monthly attendance required in AL Academy until enrolled in Educator Prep Program (EPP)

• 80-hour induction

• Completion of BT Documents

BT 1 and BT 2 AL (Alternative License)

• Regular support from District Mentor 

• Attendance required at Quarterly Support Sessions

• Completion of BT Documents

• Regular support from School-Based Mentor (at least 2x monthly)

• Attendance required at Quarterly Support Sessions

BT3 and BT 3 AL

• Regular support from School-Based Mentor (at least once monthly)

• Attendance required at Quarterly Support Sessions

• Completion of BT Documents
