The Beginning Teacher Support Program is comprised of District Mentors, "Buddy" Mentors, and School-Based Mentors.
BT 1s and AL 2s are served by the District Mentor and assigned a "Buddy" Mentor at their school. The District Mentor provides instructional support including classroom visits, data collection, reflective conversations, etc. The "Buddy" Mentor provides logistical support at the school site. No training or documentation is required of "Buddy" Mentors, and they do not receive compensation.
BT 2s and 3s are served by the School-Based Mentor. School-Based Mentors provide instructional support including classroom visits, data collection, reflective conversations, etc. School-Based Mentors are required to complete the 2 asynchronous training modules (below) and submit a mentor contact log.
