Unit 3 How's the Weather

The goal of the How's the Weather? unit is to ensure that students gain the language necessary to make observations, describe events, and ask for and give directions. They use a range of present and past tense regular and irregular verb forms and build their knowledge of adjectives and topic-specific nouns. They describe how they feel, what they do and don't need to wear, and what to do in certain weather conditions.

This unit helps equip students with the language needed to ask for and give advice and directions as well as to talk about their environment and how it affects them. The acquisition of this language knowledge particularly supports English language art, social studies, and science content standards.

This week, we learned the language we need to tell someone what to do when it's hot outside!

This week we learned how to ask and answer the question, "What's the weather like?" and then "What should I wear?"

We learned about different items you should wear in the different weather. Watch these videos to see how kindergartners ask and answer questions about what to wear based on the weather!
