I am ecstatic to be your student's second grade teacher this year and your partner in their learning! This is my fifth year teaching and my second year and Trevista. I am originally from East Tennessee near the Appalachian Mountains, but I have called Denver home for the past five years. I attended the University of Tennessee for my undergraduate degrees in Spanish and Rhetoric and Relay GSE for my graduate degree in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education. I am a first generation college graduate and I am very fortunate to have had a strong public education.

I am a proud cat mom, novice crocheter, and enthusiastic reader who loves to spend time outdoors with my friends and family. I have been a vegetarian for fourteen years and I love to cook big meals and experiment with new, interesting recipes. Traveling, connecting with new people, and movement through hiking, yoga, and dance are very important aspects of my life.

My favorite place to connect with students is on the playground, and my favorite subject to teach is math! I love how many new ways research has led us to enjoy and explore math in a hands on, engaging way. I am so excited to watch your students learn, discover, and grow this year through the multitude of learning modes we will explore.
