Balarat

Balarat Outdoor Education provides instruction to Denver Public Schools students in environmental studies, western history, and outdoor leadership skills.

Balarat operates throughout the school year, facilitating outdoor learning by providing instructional materials, resources to teachers, special outdoor learning sites, management of transportation, and housing and food service for overnight/residential excursions.

Balarat excursions have become an integral part of the Denver Public Schools’ curriculum. Balarat serves over 430 class, or approximately 10,000 students each year. Program activities are planned for each grade level and for the special interests/needs of each class.

AmeriTowne

Young AmeriTowne Denver and Belmar are two permanent facilities that feature a life-like Towne of 16 businesses plus a Towne Hall.  While in AmeriTowne, students-turned-citizens experience a career for a day, they manage their personal finances, and they participate in a free enterprise economy.  Students see the direct impact their actions and decisions have on themselves, their businesses, and their overall community.
