They mirror schools that most 1st year teachers will be hired in, therefore, providing an authentic experience for teachers in training.
They have a number of mentor teachers that have effective ratings on LEAP.
They are open to learning and growing at all levels from students to leaders.
They partner closely with Central Teams to ensure alignment with district priorities.
In Denver Public Schools, we have 7 different Teaching Academies that are located in different collaboratives, which will allow us to reach from our Far Northeast region and beyond. Our Teaching Academies also range from Primary to Secondary in order to expand our experience for all teachers.
Our Teaching Academies are:
Gust Elementary
Collegeview Elementary
Center for Talent Development (CTD)
Trevista at Horace Mann
Dr. Martin Luther King Early College (DMLK)
McAuliffe at Manuel
North High School
In order to become a part of the Teaching Academies, you must be in a paraprofessional position within Denver Public Schools, as well as partnered with one of the Universities to complete an educational degree that aligns with the standards of their program.
