Hello everyone! I hope you are all taking care of yourselves and managing to hang in there during these challenging times. I have created this website as a hub for advanced extensions, challenges, resources and ideas for students who are ready for them. You will find GT resources, extensions by grade level, off-line tasks, testing explained, and more.
CMAS Testing: Parents can choose to opt their child in or out of CMAS this year. Students looking for a qualifying GT Achievement data point will do well to opt into CMAS this year. An exceeds or a 5 on CMAS is a qualifying GT achievement data point. Please consider this when making the decisions for your child. Contact Mrs. Bresnahan for more info at robin_bresnahand@dpsk12.org.

The power of student questions! Never underestimate the power of your child's questions. For IB schools and schools in the NDIZ, student inquiry is a pillar of the learning process. Recently, while my seven year old was reading about cheetahs from Epic (getepic.com), we both has several questions. Why do cheetahs hunt during the day while other big cats hung at night? We know lionesses do the hunting for their pride, do the females hunt in other big cat communities?
I started a list at home called - QUESTIONS DURING ONLINE LEARNING. Most of them will be from the kids but my husband and I will add ours as well. This will be the impetus for further student led learning. Give it a try and let me know how it goes!
