Getting Outside!

Traveling to Panama to work at a hostel for the summer

I spent most of my life in East Texas before making the transition to Colorado in 2019. I always knew Colorado is where I wanted to be, and after experiencing a year of student teaching in 1st grade and two years of teaching my own 1st grade classes I knew I was ready to make the change. This will be my fifth year working in DPS. I've loved meeting a range of students and families and the connections I've made over the years!

I attended school in West Texas at Texas Tech University before transferring and receiving a BA in Multidisciplinary Studies at U.T. Permian Basin. Most of my family still lives in Texas, but I'm hopeful that one day they will be in Colorado with me.

Outside of teaching I enjoy getting outside and staying active. I'm always looking to learn new things and pick up new hobbies. I enjoy going on bike rides, spending time in the mountains, gardening, playing in sports leagues, and coaching kids sports. As long as I'm outside, I'm happy!

I can't wait to join the Edison community and the 2nd grade team this year, and look forward to getting to know all the amazing teachers, students, and families!
