Advisory

Advisory starts at 8:00am every Blue Day. It is a time dedicated for 3 things:

1. Individual mentoring and support. In our bi-weekly 1-1 meetings, we will discuss both weekly and long-term goals, track your academic progress, and work to build a trusting relationship. I am your go-to person at school, so I want you to feel comfortable sharing your experiences, perspectives, celebrations, and challenges during this time.

2. Service Learning. This year, Advisory will include a Service Learning Project in which students work collaboratively to plan and implement a action project that they design to serve a community of their choosing. Participation is part of passing advisory.

3. Self-Directed Learning. This time may occasionally serve as additional SDL time for you to determine your own academic goal and work independently to achieve this. You will also use this time to individually prepare for Student-Led Conferences and Demonstrations of Learning.
