About DCMB

In 1980, Denver Public Schools formed a district wide marching band, bringing together music students from across the district to study and perform music together. These students laid the foundation for the Denver Citywide Marching Band.

Over the last 40 years, The DCMB has been a large part of the Denver Community. With students from 19 different schools, The DCMB is a very diverse group of students, staff and supporters. Our performances are just as diverse. The Denver Citywide Marching Band has performed at Disneyland, the Rose Bowl Parade and the Hula Bowl. Recently we have been staying close to home and supporting a lot of local events. We enjoy performing in our communities at events such as: The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Light the Night, The Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Heart Walk and the St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer. We also enjoy playing at the South Broadway Halloween Parade, The Longmont Halloween Parade and of course, Parade of Lights.

All DPS 7th-12th grade students are welcome! We just ask that you have at least one year of experience playing your instrument and are enrolled in an instrumental class at your school, if they have one. Color Guard members need no experience and do not need to be in a music class.
