CTE PATHWAYS
Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways are structured programs that guide students through a sequence of courses focused on a specific career field. These pathways provide in-depth preparation for industry-relevant skills and knowledge.
Completing a CTE pathway:
To be recognized as a CTE completer, students must follow a designated course sequence:
Introductory Course (if offered): This course lays the groundwork for the chosen field, introducing students to fundamental concepts and terminology.
Concentrator Course: This course builds upon the introductory knowledge, providing a deeper understanding of the chosen career area.
Capstone Class: The culminating experience, the capstone class allows students to apply their learned skills through projects, simulations, or other practical exercises.
Recognition for Completion:
Students who successfully complete a CTE pathway are eligible to earn a cord for graduation. This cord serves as a tangible symbol of their achievement and demonstrates their proficiency in the completed CTE field. Students have the opportunity to complete multiple CTE pathways, earning a corresponding cord for each successfully finished program. These cords are typically different colors, allowing for easy identification of the various industry areas mastered.
